Case Study of Spiral Pile Foundation for Corridor Bridge in Jiulong Wetland Park, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province

Project Information

Location: Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, China
Period: January 2021
Contract Value: Approx. RMB 230,000

Project Challenge

Jiulong Wetland Park covers an area of about 16.86 km² with a planned investment of RMB 1.85 billion. The master plan includes five functional clusters: cultural exhibition, nature conservation, science education, wetland leisure, and ecological restoration.
The project required construction within a sensitive wetland environment, demanding no ecological damage and no disturbance to rare wildlife.
Pebble layers in the soil made it difficult to use traditional wooden piles, while the project also faced strict timelines and environmental requirements.

Our Solution

Recommended helical pile foundation parameters for the corridor bridge and waterfront platforms.
Proposed a helical pile installation scheme enabling construction without interrupting water supply, thus protecting wildlife habitats.
Greatly shortened the construction period, ensuring on-time project delivery.
Manufactured and supplied the helical piles, and carried out installation.
Provided full technical consulting and construction guidance services.

Project Results & Benefits

Ecological Protection: Enabled construction without damaging the wetland ecosystem.
Geological Adaptability: Solved the problem of driving piles into pebble formations where wooden piles failed.
Cost Savings: Reduced foundation costs by approximately 50%.
Value-added Services: Free foundation design consulting and construction guidance provided.
